These Oven-baked wings were the first recipe I uploaded to Haloodiefoodie back in 2014. They are still a firm family favorite. These sticky wings hit many flavour notes, including sweet, spicy, sour and salty. Try them and tell me what you think.

Ingredients
  

Chicken wings: First marinade

  • kg skin on wings drums and flats
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • ½ tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • salt to taste

BBQ glaze

  • 120 g tomato ketchup ½ cup
  • 120 ml water ½ cup
  • 80 ml white vinegar
  • ½ tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • ½ tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp honey
  • ½ tsp soy sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste

    Should we turn the chicken wings in the first 45 minute cooking process in the oven?

    1. After 45mins the wings should be cooked. Now crisp up the wings under the grill, turn over when one side has browned sufficiently!
